Réserve de Scandola

With its red granite cliffs flowing into the sea, the gulf of Porto has merited its position as an exceptional conservation area by the Unesco. A great show is waiting you : it has been staged by mother nature...

3 kilometres from Calvi, a recommended stop off for its amazing view : the tip of the Revellata.

Continue on in the direction of Porto taking time to admire the sea and the mountains, the fauna and the flora, on a typical narrow and sinuous corsican road but so magnificent ! In any case, you won't count the amount of kilometres done but the length of time taken!

Not to be missed:

Before heading to Porto and its gulf, take the wonderful road for the calanques of Piana (calanques=rocky creek) an exceptional conservation area, one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites, which should be seen, preferably, at sunset.

A magical and fascinating sight where the rocks, of a red-ochre colour sculptured by the water and the wind, overhanging 400 metres above the sea, seem to be set ablaze at sunset.

Piana, listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France faces the gulf of Porto.

We join the marina of Porto and its Genoese tower erected in the XVI° century. A very busy seaside resort during summer time from where you can take the boat to the marine park of Scandola (April to October): 1853 acres under the water and 2270 acres on land.
