
A real green valley, the Taravo Valley has for a long time lived at the rate of the harvests, grape harvests and chestnut picking.
With a large number of historic sites and other features of interest, the hinterland is a region full of activity. The trail of old craft traditions at Olmeto and the “Route des Sens Authentiques” will take you on a journey to explore pipe, knife and ceramic factories as well as specialities of local produce.
Everywhere you go you are sure to come across thermal springs with for example the hot springs at Baracci that have been taken since the days of antiquity.
There is also the Roman pool at Caldane, and the waters of Guitera and Tacana.
Between two pools of freshwater and sea water, dozens of activities are on offer including , climbing, river fishing, horse trekking, and other excursions, not forgetting that the region is also the starting point of two walking trails : the Mare a Mare Sud and the Mare e Monti Nord.
The Alta Rocca
Don’t miss this region that is rich with an age-old history – a Mecca for Mediterranean megalithism. This superb green and mountainous region abounds in treasures and must-gos. The places to see in priority: the Alta Rocca Museum and the megalith of Cucuruzzu, Capoula, and Levie; the Plateau of Cuscione above Quenza; the needles and pass from Bavella to Zonza; the Piscia di Gallu Cascade in the Ospédale Forest; and San Giovanni Battista Church in San Gavinodi Carbini.
Sartene
Sartène is a city, with a severe style and a strongly mark of the past, famous for its Catenacciu procession (Good Friday). It’s also a pleasant and welcoming town with its numerous paved streets and its architecture made with granite.

cette region je la connais tres tres bien et malgre tout je la redecouvre a chaque fois il y a pleins de petits villages typiques et qui meritent que l 'on s'y arrete ne pas oublier les agreables rivieres pour un petit bain apres une journée de ballades
