This valley offers you a trip to the mineral beauty of granite rocks opening before the river that rushes down from the gorgeous of the Melo lake.
Getting there on foot will take you a few hours, and you should beware of the abrupt passages when approaching the lake, but you won’t regret doing without your car – just follow the waymarqued footpath from Corte.
Up there, we guarantee you an amazing view and magic flora: small flowers, alders, columbines at the foot of shrubs, junipers, service trees, and other rare species that aren’t always easy to recognise. The fauna is just the same: we dare you to distinguish the wood nuthatch, the Corsican finch, the Corsican brook newt, the Corsican painted frogs – all local endemic varieties of these species.
If you enjoyed the hike, keep walking until you reach Capitello Lake and its impressive granite blocks mirrored in the dark waters of the crater. Jackdaws, which are small black ravens, will come to eat out of your hands, or even steal your sandwich !

Bon voyage
Grand Merci à Patrick de m'avoir convaincu d'y venir.
