Being part of traditions and at once tragic, passionate, lyrical or satirical, songs have since time immemorial given a certain rhythm to all the acts of the daily life of a country whose memory it incarnates.
Ingrained in the collective culture, it regains its truth with the awakening in the seventies of the Corsican identity thanks to the new polyphonic entities.
It has become militant with the group Canta U Populu Corsu and has developed into polyphonic schools with the group A Filetta.
Others will give them their full strength and recognition like I Chjami Aghjalesi, Petru Guelfucci, The Nouvelle Polyphonies Corses, Giramondu… and all those that we cannot name.
Singing is for the Corsicans the most talented way to carry on the memory of their history.
We are far from Tino Rossi, you will notice as you listen to them , the other famous Corsican after Napoleon.
