The Middle Age
As soon as the Romans began to overturn, starting the 4th century of our era. Corsica once again begin to stake for other partners who fight for the control of the island.
From 455 of our era the Vandals arrived, then the Ostrogoths and the Byzantines, the last staying 200 years on the island a period of decimation and misery. The Saracens (Moors) raids drone the island into troubles. It established holding points which still bring witness names like Campomoro, Morosaglia, Morsiglia.
The sea became hostile, the islanders became mountain people. They settled in the centre of the island and lined in small agriculture and especially breeding.
It was Charlemagne’s armies who for a moment won over the Saracens, but they came back and weren’t completely run off from the country tell about 1016 by the Pisans and the Genoese.
