Take some time out to visit the surroundings and mostly the Marana a narrow offshore bar between Biguglia pond and the sea with its beach, horse-riding centres, water-based recreational activities, adventure trail, cycle path….
The Biguglia pond is a nature reserve with more than 11km long : it is the biggest stretch of water in Corsica (3583 acres).
An ornithologists heaven, this reserve has numerous migrating birds, more than 100 different types, including the pink flamingos and other egrets, fish farming and where the 'boutargue' is made (speciality made from dried fish eggs).
If you continue on further you will come to the site of Mariana, with the Roman excavation sites and the Roman cathedral of the Canonica with polychromatic walls.
During summer time, you can enjoy having a coffee break or a meal in a café or restaurant straight on the beach facing the Tuscan islands.
