Some landscapes visible from the railway only... The train is and will remain an incomparable mean of conveyance to discover Corsica and its inhabitants.
It will enable you to explore Corsica differently, by going through some magnificent landscapes most of which cannot be seen from the road.
Since it was created in 1888, the train has always been part of the Corsican identity…
The line which runs from Ajaccio to Bastia or from Bastia to Calvi will offer you a nice kaleidoscope of colours as paintings...
You’ll see a little bit of the Castagniccia, the forest of Vizzavona and the white sandy beaches of the Balagna.
By the windows of the train, you’ll be able to relive in slow motion a little of Corsican history through its ethnology, geology or architecture...
The train station of Venaco, for example, is in the heart of the Corsican Regional and Natural park which is the starting point for many hikes.
You could also travel along the beaches in Balagne by the pine trees and the sea or follow without realising it the paths of the transhumance.
The “Trinichellu” (little train) is not only a mean of transport, it is an ideal opportunity to get into the heart of Corsica in order to
know the country and its people.
